Hannah and Andrew’s wedding in Swansea

Hannah and Andrew’s wedding at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea started with laughter around the sofa and a few tears before the ceremony. Hannah wore a House of CB dress, her bridesmaids wore brown, and Andrew and his friends arrived in black tie. Inside the ceremony room, Andrew’s reaction as Hannah walked in is one of the moments that stands out.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered on the Guildhall steps for confetti. The green doors and stone arches appear throughout these photographs, from Andrew waiting with his friends to Hannah and Andrew together after getting married. Their portraits also took them out to the coast, with the sea behind them and a little room to walk together.

The celebrations continued with a garden reception: tables beneath the trees, speeches outside and dancing on the decking. There are quieter pictures of the two of them at the table alongside the hugs, raised glasses and evening party photographs. This is their day, from getting ready through to the last part of the night.

Planning your photographs at Brangwyn Hall

The photographs on the steps tell several parts of Hannah and Andrew’s day: guests throwing confetti, friends gathering around them, and portraits against the green doors. For a wedding at Brangwyn Hall, it helps to agree the confetti plan with the venue and keep your essential group-photo list short. That gives everyone a clear plan when they come out of the ceremony.

Hannah and Andrew also had photographs by the coast before the garden reception. Those pictures give their gallery a very different setting from the Guildhall. If you want to include a separate portrait location, build the journey into your plans and leave some flexibility for the weather. You can still make plenty of use of the building and steps if you would rather stay close to your guests.

Brangwyn Hall wedding photography questions

Where can we have wedding portraits at Brangwyn Hall?

Hannah and Andrew’s photographs use the Guildhall steps, green doors, stone arches and the space around the building. There is room in a gallery for both a wider picture showing the architecture and closer portraits of the two of you. Agree where you can photograph with the venue team when planning your day.

Can we include photographs by the coast?

Yes, Hannah and Andrew included coastal portraits as well as pictures at the Guildhall. Plan that as a separate stop, with time for travelling and getting to your chosen spot. We can work out how it fits around your ceremony and reception, and adjust the plan if the weather changes.

How do we make time for photographs without missing the reception?

Start with the family groups that matter most to you and decide whether you want portraits at the venue, elsewhere, or both. Give a friend or family member the group list so they can help gather people. The rest of the gallery can follow what is happening: hugs, conversations, speeches and dancing.

Can you photograph a ceremony and reception at different locations?

Yes. Hannah and Andrew’s gallery follows getting ready, their Brangwyn ceremony, coastal portraits and a garden reception. Share the locations and timings when you enquire so we can plan the coverage and allow for the journeys. For ceremony-room and booking information, see Brangwyn’s wedding information.
