Barney and Tania’s wedding in Devon

Barney and Tania’s wedding at Shilstone Manor in Devon brought together a church ceremony, drinks in the gardens and a busy dance floor. The photographs start with Barney and his friends in black tie and Tania getting ready, with white and pale pink flowers and her bridesmaids in green.

After the ceremony, the story moves to Shilstone’s doorways, courtyards and gardens. There are hugs, confetti and friends crowded around the couple on the steps, alongside quieter portraits in the house. The arched hallway and the courtyard full of pots give those photographs very different settings.

Some of Barney and Tania’s portraits were made close to the celebrations: outside a doorway, beside the potted plants and in the arched hallway. Others took them into the long grass. The group photographs on the steps show both sides of getting everyone together: a photograph of the whole wedding party, then the cheering, kisses and raised bouquets around it. A short list of essential groups leaves more room for those less formal moments.
